Occupy The Garden

On April 21, 2012, (de) Occupy the Mink Hills hosted Occupy the Garden. 47 people attended the event. The schedule for the event consisted of

9-9:30 Welcome 9:30-10
Tom Dunne & Chas Eric: Compost 10-10:15
Sherry Gould: Making your own potting soil
Break 10:15-10:30
10:30-11 Corry Hughes: Companion Planting
11-12 Marty Michener: Ecologists role in gardening
12-1 Lunch
1-2 John Brooks: Feast at your feet
2-2:30 Lynn and Aidan Clowes: Herbal Tinctures
Break 2:30-2:45
2:24-3:15 Corry Hughes: Seed Bombs
3:15-3:45 Tom Wilkins: Fruit tree pruning
3:45-4:15 Mary Hodgman: Lasagna Gardening
Seed Exchange-bring organic non GMO seeds to exchange with other guests

The composting teach in was canceled as was the seed swap but the rest of the event went on without a hitch. The weather cooperated by giving a warm, sunny day. The day was long but well worth it. Aside from the canceled teach in, the schedule was stuck to though the event did go over later than expected.

Pictures of the event are available on FB. I tried to upload them here but WordPress is being bitchy and won’t let me put any pictures in this post.
